I am in a year long training program about Tantra and Sacred Intimacy that is taught by students or Rudy. His Tantra starts with nutritional healing and a basic understanding of Tantric prnicples as they are applied in daily life.
Kali Rising by Rudolph Ballentine
This book is a handbook for New Cultural paradigms and is the most accessible and useful book about Tantra I have ever read. it gave me chills and I had a clear resonant experience of feeling “known” when I read it. Beautiful, inspiring and useful.
Sex at Dawn by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha
Grassroots Postmodernism by Gustava Esteva and Madhu Suri Prakash
This book totally blows my mind. I heard about it in Kali Rising and am learning amazing things about how to successfully resist the Modern Global paradigm in order to create local sustainable postmoderm culture based on indigenous wisdom. Thanks Carrie Lanza for lending me this radical text!

Mycelium Updates
Did you know that coffee grounds and cardboard are both great substrates for inoculating spores and growing mushrooms? It’s true. I learned this and a lot more in Paul Stamet’s book Mycelium Running. He has a great company outside of Olympia, WA called Fungi Perfecti. Why wait for big government to clean up pollution when can use natures technologies to do it ourselves! ART ALERT, Don’t Miss This Show: “The Primal Authority of Yonic Wisdom” Emily Pothast on Carolee Schneemann

I saw the amazing art of Carolee Schneeman at UW’s Henry Art Gallery it is there until Dec 30th and I highly recommend it. I attended her lecture with Julia McAlee on Friday Nov 19th it was mystical and thought provoking.
Her work is Embodied painterly poetics about being in a female body and focusing on it’s generative force. It is what Rudy Ballentine calls the Yang Feminine in his book Kali Rising. I first saw Carolee’s work in the 80’s after asking Gretchen Phollips why her band (at the time of the Art Sluts 1984-86) was called MeatJoy. The band was named after Carolee’s kinetic dance piece done in Paris, London and New York in 1964.I used images from her work “Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions” in my hand made journal/calendar for years If you have never seen this work, you are missing out.
What I did not know beofre seeing the Henry show is that Carolee also did a series of small cunt/clitoral canvases that she hung in a grid. I felt relieved and celebrated because it was so much like my Diary of a Clitorist piece that I knew we had created it from the same interior space.
