Living in & Loving Cascadia March Itinerary

IMG_1499

My brother John Noel Ciacchi III is coming to visit me here in the Pacific Northwest.  J.J. as I affectionately call him, has never been to visit me in my home since I left North Ridgeville,Ohio in 1980. He came to see me graduate from Stephens College Columbia, MO in 1983 when he was 17 and I was 21. All of our visiting has been confined to the few times every two years or so when I  return to North Ridgeville for weddings and funerals. I have been hoping to show him the beauty, splendor and freakiness of Cascadia ever since I fell in love with it after moving to Eugene in 1989. So I have put together a travel itinerary designed to immerse him in all the things I love about my life here.

I am sending this out to all my friends and LLR fans to let you know that you are free to join us at any or all of these events. I am especially interested in finding others who wish to stay at the Kalalaloch Lodge on the Olympic Peninsula and hiking the Hoh rainforest with him on Wed March 25th & Thursday March 26th. I would LOVE to make this a bigger group experience and hope to find others whose hiking ability matches J.J.’s better than mine. So come along, let’s enjoy this beautiful amazing place we live and show an Ohio native why we love it here.

Patricia Hasbach, Ph.D.

As a species, we came of age in a natural world far wilder than today, and most of that need for wildness still exists within us. This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to reflect on a wild experience in their own lives, and then relate that experience to the concept of rewilding. Attendees will explore how the impact of direct interaction with wild nature can influence the therapeutic process, educational experiences, and conservation initiatives.  $30, includes 3 CEUs or PDUs.
